# The Soldier of Massacre Valley Podcast

> In the winter of 1951, UN forces were ambushed in a frozen valley near Hoengsong, South Korea. Thousands died in a single night — one of the worst disasters of the Korean War and one of its most forgotten. This is the story of one man who was there: Peter Joseph Matthew, who came home, said almost nothing, and left behind a single voice recording before he died. In this series, his voice leads us into the valley, while military records, historical research, and the memories of those who loved him build the world around it. Hosted by his granddaughter Katie Rinaudo — a Relational Trauma Specialist who has spent her career understanding what unprocessed experience does to people and the families around them — The Soldier of Massacre Valley is both a work of military history and a reckoning with what war inherits across generations. Releasing on what would have been Peter's 100th birthday, May 26th.
